Q: Tell us a bit more about why you started a company in the glamping industry.

We started venturing into the glamping business to showcase to our visitors the activities we carry out on our ranch. Our main mission is land regeneration through simple and easily replicable methods. Among our key projects are aquifer recharge, erosion control, holistic livestock management, trail design and construction, and the production of agroecological foods. After several years of developing these projects, we realized that the best way to communicate what we do and why we do it is through tourism, providing a comprehensive experience to our visitors by biking, hiking, or riding mules along the ranch trails. Furthermore, with mule rides, we have the privilege of preserving and sharing the history of the South Californian cowboy and their deep-rooted traditions.

Q: Tell us a bit about where your glamping business is today? Where do you see your business in the future?

Three years ago, we renovated our tents and added a palapa on top to extend the season. After spring, the heat becomes intense, so with the palapa, we provide a cool retreat for our customers and can keep operating until July. Although we've only been in business for a season and a half, this year is starting to pay off with more groups continuously and many interested in staying with us for the full experience. Our business model is all-inclusive glamping: accommodation, food, beverages, and adventure activities. The future of our business looks promising. We already have several repeat customers who are booking in advance for upcoming seasons, which makes us believe we can expand in the short term.

Q: What are you most excited about within the glamping industry moving forward?

I am excited that after the pandemic, many people have started to see glamping as a space for connecting with nature, reconnecting with themselves, engaging in outdoor activities, and increasing environmental awareness. Many who previously hesitated to experience this type of adventure now not only enjoy it but also return for more. Every time a group of customers enters our camp, they come with a mindset and expectations. Upon leaving, they depart completely renewed, and we have managed to sow the seed in each of their hearts

Q: Do you have any advice for those that are just starting out?

They should create not just a space for sleeping and being amidst nature but rather craft a whole experience around it. They should discover their specific value proposition so that their customers not only stay but also reconnect and fully immerse themselves in the experience of their unique space. Develop projects that are environmentally responsible, considerate of your collaborators, suppliers, and customers.
