AGA Member Spotlight: Hekipia America

Hekipia, a company specialized in tiny houses since 1987 in France, opened its first factory in the USA in 2023!

The company is specialized in the design and manufacturing of tiny houses since 1987.

Noting the development of the glamping and tiny house industry in the United States, Hekipia decided to offer its products to the American market and opened a factory in Allentown, Pennsylvania last April to manufacture its products directly in the USA.

Its first "designed in France and made in USA" accommodation, the Roulotte, was presented on October 3 and 4 at the Glamping Show in Denver, Colorado, and was very well received. Visitors appreciated the innovative design, space optimization (sleeps 4), design quality, and the fact that everything is included at a reasonable price— even the furniture.

Not to mention a certain "French touch"!

The Roulotte complies with ANSI 119.5 standards and, being mounted on a wheel frame with a VIN number, is considered a park model RV.

Q: Tell us a bit more about why you started a company in the glamping industry.

We do believe in glamping and tiny houses to be the perfect balance between the basic human needs and the necessity to take a break in calm places during vacations. This is why we started HEKIPIA, we provide to glamping resorts fully functional accomodations on wheels as Park Model RV.

Q: Tell us a bit about where your glamping business is today? Where do you see your business in the future?

Over the last 35 years, we’ve built over 28 thousand tiny house accommodations in Europe. We just started in the US after making our park model RV compliant with American standards. Our first model in the US, "The Roulotte", was presented at the Glamping Show in Denver CO, and had a very warm reception. We look forward to doing business with American glamping resorts and providing their customers with top quality accomodations!

Q: What are you most excited about within the glamping industry moving forward?

We do think the glamping industry is the new way to relax and unwind during vacations, maintaining a comfort level in wonderful places! It is exciting to see how people are more and more asking for nature.

Q: Do you have any advice for those that are just starting out?

Bring something different in your design to make your tiny house unique!
